When it mattered
The operations manual reviewed section by section, a competition clause breach and unpaid franchisee invoices pursued, and a copyright infringement stopped.
Where the pressure is
Franchising multiplies a business and multiplies its legal exposure with it. Every franchisee needs the same agreement, the same operations manual and the same standards, and the brand has to be protected against copycats and against the franchisee who goes their own way. Add waste carrier compliance, right to work checks and unpaid invoices from branches, and the founder is buried in paperwork that moves nobody's furniture.
What we did
Thirty-four matters in a year, the bulk of them the manual and the rules that hold a national network together.
- The franchise agreement reviewed, and the operations manual reviewed section by section, with a manual handling policy and a Wales-specific wellbeing assessment
- A regulatory compliance review with actions, waste removal compliance, payment plans and a getting-into-business checklist for new franchisees
- Brand name, assets and logo protection, action against a business trading on the name, and a copyright infringement
- Franchisee disputes, a competition clause breach, unpaid franchisee invoices, a debt recovery process for branches and a small claims matter
- Skilled worker visa, right to work and DBS guidance as the team grew
