FIXED-FEE LEGAL SERVICES FOR BUSINESS

Say goodbye to legal bills you didn't see coming.

Get the legal support your business needs, with clear scope and pricing agreed upfront.

Why fixed fees

Hourly billing rewards time. Fixed fees reward outcomes.

With backgrounds in leading law firms and in-house legal teams, our commercial solicitors bring SMEs big-firm expertise at a fixed rate, so you can plan for legal costs without the uncertainty of hourly billing.

I came into law to solve problems, not to count units. Fixed fees let me focus on the answer rather than the time it took to get there. The work is judged on whether it serves the client, which is the standard I trained to meet.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often, on how the subscription works, what it covers and how we charge.

Lawyerly's fixed-fee service is a one-off legal project delivered for a single, agreed price. We scope the work with you upfront, set it out in a written quote, and the price you accept is the price you pay. It's designed for businesses that need a specific piece of legal work done properly, without the open-ended cost of hourly billing. Most clients use us for buying or selling a business, investment rounds, contracts, employment work, company matters, IP filings, leases and similar projects.
Traditional firms work reactively, charge by the hour, and often can't tell you what a piece of work will cost until it's done. We start every fixed-fee project with a clear scope and a set price, delivered by your dedicated SRA-regulated solicitor through our Client Hub. No timesheets, no surprise invoices, and no chasing for updates.
Our solicitors are individually regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and bound by its Code of Conduct, and we carry professional indemnity insurance covering their work. Lawyerly itself isn't authorised as a firm by the SRA; we operate under the model the SRA introduced in 2019, in which regulatory accountability sits with the individual solicitor rather than the firm.
Yes. Every fixed-fee project is delivered by one of our SRA-regulated solicitors, matched to your matter based on their commercial experience. They personally scope the work, draft the deliverable, sign it off and stay your point of contact from quote to delivery. They draw on the wider team for specialist input behind the scenes, but the work is theirs.
AI helps us with first-pass review, research and admin. It never replaces a solicitor's judgement, and a qualified solicitor signs off every piece of advice that leaves us. Your data is never used to train third-party AI models, and all processing complies with UK GDPR.
Every fixed-fee project includes a written scope, the legal work itself, the final deliverable (contract, advice note, filing or similar) and any revisions within the agreed scope. We list exactly what's included in your written quote before you pay, so you know what you're getting and what sits outside the project. If anything material is missing, we flag it before you accept.
Anything outside the agreed scope, and any third-party costs we incur on your behalf. Disbursements such as Companies House filing fees, UKIPO trade mark fees, Land Registry fees, court fees and counsel's fees are passed through at cost and shown separately on your invoice. We don't undertake reserved legal activities such as court litigation, trial advocacy, criminal defence, immigration or conveyancing, and we don't advise on regulated financial services, specialist tax structuring or personal matters for directors and shareholders individually.
Each quote specifies the deliverables clearly, and includes the anticipated rounds of amendments.
If new facts come up or the scope shifts beyond what we quoted for, we pause, explain what's changed, and give you a revised fixed-price quote in writing before doing anything further. We never bill extra without your written agreement.
Our solicitors are qualified in England & Wales, and most UK commercial contracts use E&W jurisdiction, so this rarely creates an issue. Where a matter is governed by Scots or Northern Ireland law (typically employment, property or litigation with a local connection), we refer to trusted local counsel with a structured handover.
Yes. We advise on the UK side of cross-border matters: your UK contracts, your UK entity, UK GDPR and UK employment law. For foreign-law questions, we coordinate with a network of overseas counsel and bring their advice into a single workstream, so you only deal with us. Foreign counsel fees are quoted separately before instruction.
Your Client Hub is the central place for your subscription. You can book calls or video meetings with your solicitor, open and track legal projects, share documents securely and message us on live chat. Email and phone are available too.
We acknowledge new requests within 24 hours, and substantive work like advice, drafting or contract review typically lands within 7 days depending on complexity. Many routine matters move faster. We agree turnaround times upfront on bigger projects, and we tell you straight away if anything will take longer than expected.
Once you accept the quote, we open your Client Hub the same day and start onboarding, which includes standard identity and compliance checks. Most clients are fully set up within 20 minutes, and your solicitor reaches out during this period to schedule a first session. Urgent matters can usually be picked up as soon as onboarding clears.
All fixed-fee prices on this page are exclusive of VAT, which we add at 20%. VAT is reclaimable if you're VAT-registered.
Only third-party disbursements, which are passed through at cost. These include filing fees, registry fees, counsel's fees and similar costs. These are itemised on your quote so you can see the full picture before you accept. No charges for emails, calls or short queries during the project, and no admin or file-opening fees.

You pay the fixed fee in full once you accept the written quote and before work begins. We accept card and bank transfer. Larger projects can be split into staged payments tied to milestones, agreed in writing before we start.

A fixed-fee project is the right choice when you need specific, once-off legal supprt, such as a contract to draft, a trade mark to file or a lease to review. For businesses with regular legal needs, a legal subscription often works out cheaper over twelve months than buying the same work as separate fixed-fee projects, and includes unlimited everyday advice across the year. We will always be honest and tell you which we believe is the right fit for your circumstances.
