When it mattered

Redundancy processes and restrictive covenants handled correctly and kindly, a new brand trade mark defended against unauthorised use, a lease surrender for the office estate and an EMI option scheme.

Where the pressure is

A healthcare recruiter runs on people, which means the legal load is constant and mostly HR-shaped: new starters, role changes, maternity, absence, redundancy, restrictive covenants, all under sector regulation and NHS framework rules. Around that sit supplier and client terms, NDAs, the odd unpaid invoice and the brand itself. No single question is large. Together they would keep a lawyer busy full time, which is why Athona uses us as one.

What we did

One Enterprise plan covers the whole group, with five people across the business able to open matters. Around forty-five matters a year, most of them answered inside the week.

  • Employment contracts, offer letters and job descriptions for an expanding workforce
  • Policy reviews, flexible working, maternity and role changes, absence, redundancy processes and restrictive covenants, handled correctly and kindly
  • Supplier and client terms, NDAs, a contractual dispute and an unpaid invoice
  • Heads of terms and a lease surrender for the office estate
  • A new brand trade mark, action on unauthorised use of the logo, GDPR retention and subject access requests, and an EMI option scheme

Savings are estimates and every figure is shown per year. Matter counts come from our case system in September 2026 and are annualised where a client has been with us for less or more than a year. The hourly-rate figures apply typical UK commercial firm fees for SME work to those matters (for example £1,200 to £2,500 for a contract review, £900 to £2,000 for an employment matter, £300 to £600 for a short advice query, £1,500 to £3,000 for a compliance review and £2,500 to £5,000 for a commercial lease). Plan figures are the published price of the plan the client is on. Each client has approved the use of their name.
